Last night’s sunset followed by this morning’s sunrise was enough for me to grab my camera and take a few shots. It never ceases to amaze me when the desert sky is on fire at sunset, displaying all the shades of red and yellow before moving into purple and the black of night. I woke up at 3 a.m. and began painting this morning. After a couple of hours I looked up to see another glorious sky outside of my studio window. This time it was early morning, which I do not see often. I generally sleep in late. So this was a real treat and I really wanted to capture one of the few times that I was awake so early. Of course, I’m not going to lie…. I slept most of the day today. I felt like I earned it! Ha!
Tonight… First Friday’s Art Walk with friends! Yeah! Photos to follow, hopefully.

FULL WOLF MOON ~ You can see Mars as a tiny dot in the sky, to the left side of the photo. Mars is opposite the sun right now.

Prior to the full moon rising it seems that our sky was on fire again. These were taken from my backyard.

I can never get enough of the natural, desert sky colors. After the exciting moon~mars event that occurred last night, I woke up to a GLORIOUS morning sky, full of golden yellows.

The western urban city scape was delicious, as well, with soft pinks, lavenders and baby blues. Heaven’s palette and inspiration from nature, even in the big city, can always be found. ~ Now, onward and upward to hang crystals in my studio window to get the creative waters stirred and flowing in there. There are two major painting jobs awaiting me and they will be the first ones to come out of the new studio space. I am eager and excited today.

Lonely women say a prayer
On the western skyline” ( Bruce Hornsby )
Enjoy the days and nights, my friends!

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE
This was the sky that I woke up to. As I took the picture, a small flock of birds flew overhead and into the photo. I’m not sure what kind of birds they are, but they sure spiced up the sunrise.

Looking to the north was a different scene.
I have been running on “farmer’s hours, lately. I used to go to bed as the sun rose and wake with the moon rise. It is nice to flip my hours around and get back into a more natural rhythm again. The weather is breaking into more fall like temperatures. I am so happy to have survived another hot, Arizona summer.
