BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE~BEAUTIFUL DAY

The Living On The Earth Celebration at The Arizona Biltmore, put together by Phoenix, Body, Mind & Soul magazine last Saturday, could not have been more beautiful. The day was perfect. The room was filled with beautiful healers and artists of ranging in a wide spectrum of diverse talents. It was simply divine. We were blessed with a performance by Alicia Bay Laurel , as well as, some great speakers and the most gorgeous Hawaiian music played and sung by the sweetest couple (I apologize that I cannot remember their names but, I think their last name is Nap). The patio was filled with booths consisting of palm readers, herbs, healers, gardeners, music, natural bath and body products and tarot readers, just to name a few. We were served a fabulous lunch and finished that off with a small, sugar free, delicious desert treat from Chef Rachel. We shared a table with Dr. Jeanine Austin~ who I have admired and been connected with on line for many years. It was so wonderful to FINALLY meet in person.

I loaned several of my paintings to be displayed at the event and it made me feel at home. So nice of them to allow me to participate in this celebration. I made some new friends and connected with some old ones ( as in, people who I have known for awhile now! LOL)

Oh! And I almost forgot…. I won a free, full body, hour massage from Neo Chiro United Infrastructure Restorations ,that I will be collecting on very soon! What a plus! Their slogan is “United We Stand…, Ascended & Awake!” Definitely looking forward to that.

HIPPIE FOOD AND MAGICAL MARKET ADVENTURE

AH….. another Saturday morning at the Farmers Market. The best place to buy locally grown, organic food and other healthy products as well as arts and music from local artists. I think that they have everything that a person could possibly need. Heirloom tomatoes, canned fruits and veggies, artisan breads, herbs, free trade organic coffee, transplants to place in your garden, unique clothing and yummy jams and jellies. Oh…. the list goes on and on. The people are friendly and delightful ~ vendors and visitors, alike ~ From the Hummus and Pita chip lady to the handmade incense guy and everyone in between, it is the perfect Saturday morning event. I now have the funky pumpkin, that is pictured above, sitting on our table. It came from Arizona Homegrown Solutions,  the most wonderful organization that serves the community in a big way. Check them out and see what great things that they facilitate.     Fruits and vegetables are so sensual and enticing. There is something about a table full of fresh, organic vegetables that makes my heart melt. Farmers Markets are not only a healthier solution they also support local growers~big and small~ as well as local artists. Where else can you do your grocery shopping with live music and take your dog?!

My goddess sister, Alicia Bay Laurel, had a booth there where she sold her CD’s and her best selling, vintage, 70’s book, “Living on the Earth”. Phoenix Body Mind & Soul magazine sponsored Alicia’s booksigning. It was so joyful to spend time with her~and all of my PBMS friends.

Pre Ordered Peace Paintings

These two paintings are two of the latest commissioned paintings. The Peace Bus was painted for the Living On The Earth event, scheduled for May 8th, 2010 ~ coordinated by Phoenix Body Mind and Soul magazine. The day includes a luncheon and a musical presentation by Alicia followed by an intimate chat and CD/Book signing amidst a garden setting. All day ticket holders will receive a copy of Living on the Earth and will be allowed access to all the days presentations designed to move you toward zen-ful, earth friendly well being. A perfect way to honor legends, relax, enjoy and hob-knob with like-minded locals!

The Peace of Mind Body and Spirit, Buddha is a commissioned painting for a beautiful woman who contacted me following the “Feed Your Head” art showing at “That’s A Wrap” that I had up last month. It is always such a delightful feeling handing over a commissioned piece, it is already well loved and feels much like giving a baby to a new parent/guardian.

Thank you to all of you who support and appreciate my paintings and art, you give a deeper meaning to the creation of every piece.

REMEMBERING MY FRST LOVE

“coffee break”

“double shot”

“triple shot”

I ran across one of my many piles of pen and ink drawings that I saved from years ago. Pen and ink have always been my first love. I was reminded that I need to do more of them. I get completely lost in a dream world while drawing. It is the greatest high. I LOVE that! ~ So, of course, I gathered up my pen and ink supplies and started diving into that world again. I have discovered that it must be incorporated into my daily, creative routine.

I am working on a monthly art newsletter that will include the pen and ink with inspirations, positive affirmations, quotes, etc. I am calling it the ‘Magical Muse News’ ~ it is an exciting project. Besides incorporating them into my own art journey, I will offer them to Phoenix Body, Mind and Soul magazine.

In the meantime, I’m just drawing, painting, thinking, and making it all happen. There are so many things that I want to indulge in and there really are not enough hours in this lifetime to cover everything! ~ “One step at a time. Focus on the here and now. Pay attention to what is front of me.” ~ These are the things that I tell myself in an effort to stay grounded. If I think too far ahead of the moment, I tend to get scattered and cannot accomplish anything! Then I need a long nap!  Which leads to more dreaming, which leads to more art, which leads to more napping! A vicious creative process that is best to avoid.

Oh, Yah, I need to boil some water and get out the french press…..a HUGE cup of coffee should do the trick! The obvious really does often escape me.

So, now the coffee is steeping and I am on my way to another creatively full day. ~ That is, if I don’t start daydreaming my way into some grandiose scene and wear myself out! HA!
