IT’S SO EASY BEING GREEN
Finally got my paintings hung at Green Vegetarian Restaurant in Tempe. I LOVE that place! The food is FABULOUS and the owner and people who work there are AMAZING folks. I LOVE them all. This year my paintings will be hanging at the same time the ThanksLiving dinner festival is held. You can visit their website and actually buy your ticket for the great meal event on line. Check out the menu.
What would normally take me a short time to paint a body of work to hang a small show turned into a year. Since the return of the brain cvm’s everything is much more difficult and time consuming. I have decided to “come out” and accept that what is going on should not be kept to myself. It is not like it is my disease alone. So, you will probably be reading alot more about my brain/art connection in the future. I know that I have mentioned it in the past, but I kept trying not to focus very much on that in my blog and art journey. The time has come for me to embrace what is going on and accept it. It is a trippy experience and has definitely affected my art as well as my day to day life. After conversations with my friend, Alison Silva, I realize the importance of bringing awareness to this brain anomaly. I am especially interested in the brain~creative connection that she has drawn to my close attention. Alison suffers the same thing that I have, only in a different area of the brain. Unlike me, she has not opted for surgery, which is the only treatment to date. I did, however, I am back at square one now though, only to have TWO more cvm’s than I had the first time around. It is also is an inconsistent thing. At times I am perfectly fine and other times I am WONKY (thanks for my new favorite word, Pam!). Pain and other awful symptoms dictate the day, so I just never know what each day will bring. It has helped me to completely remain in the moment.
So, that being what it is, I will continue to move forward and enjoy the ride despite the bumpy parts of the road!
Peace, Love, Dove.
