“Why didn’t I think of this”???!!! That is what I thought when I discovered this magical, knitted, tree sweater at the Farm at South Mountain last week.
There was a variety of “tree sweaters” on other trees, but this one was so cool with pockets, plastic bags, note paper and a pen to write whatever you want and leave in the pocket. I think it is a “wishing tree”….but, I just made that up, I really don’t know the story behind this. (I suppose that I could have asked). It seems that the reasoning behind things are better when left to our own imaginations. We can create any reality that we want. ~ (where was I going with that?!?! Ha!) ….anyway…….
Maya’s Farm is also at the Farm at South Mountain. You can buy organic food that is fresh off the farm. I usually buy from them at the Downtown Farmer’s Market. It was a much better experience buying directly on the farm, as much as I love the farmer’s market. The day was PERFECT and it was in the 70 degree range. We had lunch under the bare pecan trees and walked the property. It is so calming there.
Now, back to the tree sweaters…I am amazed that in all my years under the influence of the 60’s and 70’s (okay, maybe the 80’s and 90’s, too!) that I never once thought to put clothes on my trees. I just think that this is a really trippy thing! And I like it!!
I finally am free from a chronic, 2 week long headache and am feeling creative and alive. Maybe I will learn to knit ~ or better yet, I’ll just visit the “wishing tree” more often. That was what I wished for. Now I believe!

Tracy — Love the new website! The photos of you are gorgeous!!!! I think the sweater tree is sooo cool too, however, I wonder if those trees are sweltering in the Phoenix heat? Goodness gracious, do our Zonie trees really need clothes in 110 heat? Do we? (lol) I’m thinking we should all move to Oregon and make it a plan to clothe all those trees — well maybe rain slickers instead.
XOXOXO

I love these wishing trees. I live in Peoria Arizona and I haven’t been over to the farm in a couple of years. I will definitely be heading out there soon.
